UTICA, NY—Utica (9-12-3/6-9-2) netted three unanswered goals in the third period to skate away with a 3-1 victory over visiting Buffalo State (7-15-2/4-12-1) in an ECAC West contest tonight at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.

Rio Flynn (Happy Valley, OR/Appleby College-ON) gave Buffalo State a 1-0 lead 7:18 into the second period with an assist from Emily Cornett (Damascus, MD/Wyoming Seminary).  Utica finally broke through to even the score with just under eight minutes remaining in the third, and then potted the game-winner less than three minutes later.  The Pioneers then iced the game with an empty-netter with 42 seconds remaining.

Utica outshot Buffalo State, 38-28.  Jordan Lee (Colorado Springs, CO/Widefield) turned aside 35 of the 37 shots she faced for the Bengals.  The Pioneers finished 2 for 8 on the power play, and Buffalo State was 0 for 6.

Buffalo State will end its season tomorrow with another clash with Utica at 3 p.m.
