Box Score CANTON, NY—Jeyna Minnick (Rochester, NY/Greece-Arcadia) had a goal and an assist, but it was not enough as Buffalo State (0-6) dropped a 5-2 decision to host SUNY Canton (3-2-2) tonight in a non-conference contest.

After a scoreless first period, the teams erupted for six goals in the second period, including five by Canton. After the Kangaroos score three times in in a span of less than six minutes, Nikki Kirchberger (Buffalo, NY/W. Seneca West) put the Bengals on the scoreboard with her third of the season. Minnick cut the deficit to 5-2 with an assist from Kara Goodwin (Avon Lake, OH/Avon Lake) just 1:39 into the final frame, but the Bengals could not mount a comeback.

Jordan Lee (Colorado Springs/Widefield) surrendered four goals on 15 shots, before being relieved by Sarah Quigley (Canton, MA/National Sports Academy) midway through the second period. Quigley stopped 9 of 10 shots the rest of the way. The Bengals outshot Canton, 30-25, for the game.

Buffalo State and Canton will meet again tomorrow at 2 p.m.
