POTSDAM, NY—Potsdam (9-13-2/5-9-1) used a pair of second-period goals to edge Buffalo State (6-17-1/3-12-0), 4-3, in an ECAC West game tonight at Cheel Arena on the campus of Clarkson University.

Tara Boliard (Canton, MI/Canton) led the Bengals with a goal and an assist.  Kara Goodwin (Avon Lake, OH/Avon Lake) and Nikki Kirchberger (Buffalo, NY/W. Seneca West) also scored for Buffalo State.

The teams traded goals in the first period and took a 2-2 tie into the intermission.  The Bears netted two goals midway through the second, but the Bengals responded at 19:28 and cut the deficit in half, but would not find the equalizer.

Potsdam outshot Buffalo State, 37-26, and Jordan Lee (Colorado Springs, CO/Widefield) finished with 33 saves between the pipes.

Buffalo State will conclude its season tomorrow when it faces off against the Bears tomorrow at 2 p.m.
