Box Score OSWEGO, NY— Third-seeded Oswego (17-8-1) scored three third-period goals and defeated No. 6-seeded Buffalo State (3-21-2), 3-1, in an ECAC West quarterfinal game this afternoon at the Campus Center Ice Arena.

Junior forward Kara Goodwin (Avon Lake, OH/Avon Lake) gave the Bengals an early lead, netting her team-leading 16th goal of the season at 7:25 of the first period, assisted by Nikki Kirchberger (Buffalo, NY/W. Seneca West).

The Bengals held the Lakers scoreless and carried the lead into the final stanza, despite being outshot 23-7 through two periods of play.  Oswego tied the game with an even-strength goal at 3:02 and then added two more markers in a span of 19 seconds to put the game out of reach, scoring with the extra attacker on a delayed penalty at 7:51 and then again on the power play at 8:10.

Oswego finished with a 40-9 advantage in shots, including a 17-2 edge in the third period.  The Lakers were 1 for 5 on the power play, while the Bengals were 0 for 4.  Senior Jordan Lee (Colorado Springs, CO/Widefield) made 37 saves between the pipes for Buffalo State in her final game.
