Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y.— Morrisville State netted one goal in each period to skate to a 3-1 victory over host Buffalo State in an NEWHL contest today at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State pushed the pace early in the first period, but the Mustangs settled in and started controlling the play in the latter half of the first period before opening the scoring on a second rebound with five minutes left in the opening frame.
- Morrisville dominated the middle stanza, outshooting the Bengals 17-5, but were only able to extend the lead by one goal, scoring again on a rebound.
- Buffalo State regrouped in the third period and capitalized on a two-player advantage when freshman Lexi Lazore (Akwesasne, NY/Salmon River) netted her first collegiate goal with assists from Jessica Carter (Scottsdale, AZ/Brightmont Acad.) and Angelina Cruzal (Campbell, CA/Westmont) to cut the deficit in half with 6:10 remaining.
- The Mustangs answered with a power-play goal of their own less than three minutes later, however, putting the game out of reach.
- Bri Gawronski (Dunkirk, NY/Mt. Mercy) had a strong outing between the pipes, making 34 saves as the Bengals were outshot 37-23.
- Both teams finished 1 for 5 on the power play.
FOR THE FOES
- Kylie Cameron, Alexziz Giannamore and Chyne Kennedy all scored for Morrisville.
- Sissy Harman made 22 saves in goal.
