Men's Basketball to Host Two SUNYAC Contests This Weekend

Bengals take on Oneonta Friday at 7:30 pm, New Paltz Saturday at 4 pm

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's basketball team hosts a pair of SUNYAC contests this weekend, taking on Oneonta on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and New Paltz on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Sports Arena.

EYES ON THE BENGALS
  • Buffalo State enters with a 1-6 overall record and looking for its first SUNYAC victory in its fourth attempt. The Bengals are also looking to snap a four-game losing streak.  
  • Buffalo State is second in the SUNYAC this season, averaging 9.0 steals per game. The Bengals also have rejected 3.9 shots per game, the third-most blocks in the conference.  
  • Robert Richards (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) is averaging a team-high 10.7 points per game, while Argjend Imeri (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) is right behind with 10.6 points per game.

NEWS ABOUT NEW PALTZ
  • New Paltz enters a Friday matchup with Fredonia at 5-2 overall (3-0 SUNYAC). The Hawks are riding a four-game winning streak after a sweep of Plattsburgh State and Potsdam at home last weekend.
  • New Paltz is the highest scoring offense in the conference at a ridiculous 86.0 points per game, but also allows the third-most points per game at 76.4.
  • Rylan Blondo is off to a fast start, averaging 20.9 points per game on 51.5% shooting from the field. Blondo's scoring average also leads the conference, and is 37th nationally.
