Indoor Track And Field Heads To Boston For Weekend Invite

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State indoor track and field teams return to action this weekend as they travel to Boston University to compete in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.

For The Bengal Men

Last time out, the Bengal men finished 7^th of 18 teams at the Brockport Multi Meet.
Tyler McGrath (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) took the win in the 60-meter dash in 7.07 seconds and finished third in the 200 with a time of 22.95 seconds.
Chris Kaszynski (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) finished second in the pole vault and Devin Austin (Kennedy, NY/Falconer) was third in the high jump.
Coming into the meet, the Bengals have six different members of their men's team who have AARTFC qualifying marks.
Buffalo State also has two ranked in the top-25 nationally as Shevaughn Allen (Buffalo, NY/JFK) is 4^th in the triple jump (14.82 meters) and 19^th in the long jump (7.04 meters) while Jarrod Polk (Bolivar, NY/Bolivar-Richburg) is 19^th in the long jump (7.04 meters).

For The Bengal Women

Last time out, the Bengal women finished 11^th of 16 teams at the Brockport Multi Meet.
Makhia Laster (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter) won the 60-meter dash in 7.96 seconds and would later take fifth in the 200-meter dash.
Destiny Rivera (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn Liberal Arts) finished 8^th in the high jump while Jenna Raczka (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) finished 10^th in the 400-meter dash.
Laster and Nat Sawyer (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) have notched AARTFC qualifying marks.
Sawyer is currently ranked 19^th in the country in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.15 seconds.
