Women's Volleyball Releases 2023 Schedule

BUFFALO, NY – Coming off back-to-back appearances in the SUNYAC playoffs for the first time since 2014, the Buffalo State women's volleyball team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2023 season. The Bengals are scheduled for 27 regular season contests, with eight home contests in the Sports Arena, including the annual Bengal Challenge. 

Coach Maria Roberts' team will open the regular season at the Mount Union Tournament on Sept. 1 and 2. The Bengals will face Ohio Wesleyan and Marietta on the first day, then take on host Mount Union and Albion on day two. The team will then travel to Pitt-Bradford on Sept. 6 before heading to the University of Rochester Tournament on Sept. 8 and 9, where they will battle the Yellowjackets, RIT, and Keuka College. 

The Bengals will then return home for their annual Bengal Challenge on Sept. 15 and 16, hosting Penn State Behrend, Covenant (GA), and Alfred University. The team will hit the road again for four contests featuring Nazareth (Sept. 20), St. Joseph's Long Island and Baruch at the St. Joseph's Tri-Match (Sept. 23), and Houghton on Sept. 26. 

Buffalo State is back at home for three straight SUNYAC contests against Oneonta (Sept. 29), New Paltz (Sept. 30), and Fredonia (Oct. 4) to open conference play. The squad will then trave to St. John Fisher on Oct. 6 for a non-conference contest, before six straight SUNYAC matches at Geneseo (Oct. 13), at Brockport (Oct. 14), Oswego (Oct. 20), Cortland (Oct. 21), at Plattsburgh (Oct. 27), and at Potsdam, (Oct. 28). To wrap up the regular season, the Bengals will compete in a tri-match with the University of Rochester and Elmira on Nov. 4. 

Buffalo State will look to reach the SUNYAC Playoffs for the third consecutive season, which will be held from Nov. 7-Nov. 23.
