BUFFALO, NY – Buffalo State's
Ella Wittman (Cheektowaga, NY/Springville Griffith),
Karlie Shaffer (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown East), and
Nicole Delli Colli (Rye, NY/Rye) have been recognized for their outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments, earning a selection to the 2025 Women's Volleyball Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.
To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must display combined excellence in their sport and in the classroom, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above through at least two full semesters at their institution, while also participating in 90%, or starting 66%, of their team's contests during the season.
Wittman earns the honor for the first time in her career. Holding a 3.62 GPA as a journalism major, Wittman was a force for the Bengals as she earned All-SUNYAC honors for a second straight season. She led the Bengals with 398 kills, averaging 3.62 kills per set, with 324 digs, 35 assists, and 44 services aces. Wittman posted a career-high 24 kills against Hamilton back in September and was second in the conference in kills and third in kills per set.
Shaffer earns the honor for a third straight season while Delli Colli earns her second. For Shaffer, she carries a 3.94 GPA as a speech pathology major and earned All-SUNYAC for a second striaght year. She posted 355 assists while averaging 3.45 assists across 103 sets played. Shaffer also tallied 36 service aces, 222 digs, and ranked in the top-15 in the conferences in total assists. For Delli Colli, she carried a 3.76 GPA as a forensic chemistry major. Delli Colli finished the season with 206 kills, ten assists, 18 service aces, 107 digs, and 17 total blocks across 104 sets played on her way to her first career All-SUNYAC honor.
