BROCKPORT, NY – Chris Kaszynski (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) earned his first career SUNYAC Title in the pole vault,
Jarrod Polk (Bolivar, NY/Bolivar-Richburg) earned second in the triple jump, and four other Bengals qualified for finals as the Buffalo State indoor track & field teams had a strong showing at the first day of SUNYAC Championships at the Special Events and Recreation Center at SUNY Brockport.
FOR THE BENGALS
- Kaszynski leaped to a winning mark of 4.55 meters to win his first SUNYAC Title.
- Polk leaped to a mark of 14.19 meters to take second place following his second jump.
- Tyler McGrath (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) earned a spot at finals tomorrow in both the 60 and 200-meter dash. McGrath will enter finals as the top seed in the 200 and the third seed in the 60.
- Natalia Sawyer (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) will enter finals as the top seed in the 60-meter hurdles, as well as the 200 and 400-meter dash.
- Makhia Laster (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter) earned a spot at finals in the 60-meter dash as well as the 200-meter.
- Jenna Raczka (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) will race the 400-meter dash at finals tomorrow with Sawyer.
- Kai Messmer (Buffalo, NY/St. Joe's) scored points finishing sixth in the triple jump while the men's distance medley of Seth Fonda (Buffalo, NY/Cheektowaga), Sidney Morris (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East), Max Ming (Brooklyn, NY/Orchard Academy), and Gio Ventura (Geneva, NY/Geneva) also scored points with a sixth-place finish.
