BROCKPORT, NY – Natalia Sawyer (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont),
Makhia Laster (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter), and
Tyler McGrath (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) each earned SUNYAC Titles to lead the Buffalo State indoor track & field teams as the women finished fifth and the men finished fourth overall at SUNYAC Championships this weekend hosted by SUNY Brockport.

FOR THE BENGALS
- Sawyer picked up a trio of wins crossing the line first in the 60-meter hurdles as well as the 200 and 400-meter dash.
- Sawyer also set the facility record in the hurdle event with a time of 8.56 seconds.
- Laster picked up her first career SUNYAC Title with a leap of 5.65 meters in the long jump before finishing second in the 60-meter dash and fourth in the 200-meter dash.
- McGrath picked up a pair of wins in the 60-meter dash as well as the 200-meter dash.
- McGrath's time of 6.85 in the 60-meter dash is a new Buffalo State program record, which was previously held by Xavier Mateen with a time of 6.86 seconds.
- McGrath and Sawyer were also named the Most Valuable Performers of the Meet.
- Jenna Raczka (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) scored for the Bengal women taking fourth in the 400-meter dash.
- McGrath teamed up Dylan Devine (Brockport, NY/Brockport), Sidney Morris (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East), and Max Ming (Brooklyn, NY/Orchard Academy) to finish fourth in the 4x400-meter relay.
- Kai Messmer (Buffalo, NY/St. Joe's) took third in the long jump while Nas Muslim Dost (Buffalo, NY/Maryvale), Seth Conner (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga), and Jarrod Polk (Bolivar, NY/Bolivar-Richburg) finished fifth, sixth, and eighth, respectively to score for the Bengals.
- Xzavier Goodman (Buffalo, NY/Olmstead) rounded out the scoring for the Bengals taking sixth in the shot put.

Those who qualified will race at AARTFC Regionals next weekend hosted by Nazareth University.
