GENESEO, NY – Kai Messmer (Buffalo, NY/St. Joe's) finished third in the long jump in his SUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship debut to lead the Buffalo State men at the opening day of SUNYAC Championships hosted by SUNY Geneseo.
For The Bengal Men
- Messmer placed third in the long jump with a leap of 6.98 meters on his third jump. Messmer will aim to reciprocate his efforts tomorrow in the triple jump.
- Tyler McGrath (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) qualified for finals in the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints. McGrath will be seeded fifth in both events.
- Chris Diem (Buffalo, NY/Cleveland Hill) finished seventh in the javelin throw with a distance of 47.59 meters.
- The Bengal men currently sit seventh with eight points following five scoring events today.
