BUFFALO, NY – Jalil Coppedge (Bronx, NY/Ralph R. McKee) of the Buffalo State men's track & field team and
Taylor Masterson (Niagara Falls, ON/Niagara Falls Rapids) of the Buffalo State women's hockey team have been named Bengal Athletes of the Week, presented by UBMD Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
Coppedge, a sophomore dietetics major, raced to a second place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at the Nazareth Invite on Saturday, posting a time of 8.36 seconds. That mark bests his own school record which he set last season by .01. His time also qualifies him for the AARTFC Regional Meet.
The men's track & field team returns to action on January 16
th at the Brockport Invite.
Masterson, a freshman childhood education major, scored a pair of goals and tallied two assists in two wins over Hilbert to cap-off a four point weekend. On Saturday, Masterson scored twice while also picking up an assist. On the year, Masterson has seven points with four goals and three assists for the Bengals.
The women's hockey team returns to action on Friday as they will host New England College.
