BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo State women's wrestling team was named the AMCC Women's Wrestling Team Peak Performer, announced by the conference earlier today. These awards are given annually to the teams holding the highest cumulative team GPA in their respective sports at the conclusion of the fall semester as part of D3 Week.
The Bengals posted a solid debut season going 5-8 overall and finishing third at the AMCC Invitational. At the end of season invite, the Bengals finished first and second in the 131 lbs. class with
Rosaliz Aponte (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia) and
Brooke Tarshis (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) and also saw a second place finish from
Hailey Hankinson (Grand Island, NY/North Tonawanda) in the 117 lbs. class. Tarshis was also named the Co-Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Meet.
