BUFFALO, NY – Gavin Wilczewski (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) and Drew Bowman (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) of the Buffalo State men's volleyball team have been named Bengal Athletes of the Week, presented by UBMD Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
 
Wilczewski, a junior communications major, was a staple for the Bengal offense totaling 43 kills, a .355 hitting percentage, and 20 digs in a pair of matchups with St. John Fisher and #20 Thiel. In Buffalo State's five-set win over the Cardinals, Wilczewski matched a program-record with 22 kills in a five-set match while averaging 4.40 kills per set. Wilczewski was also named the AMCC Offensive Athlete of the Week.

Bowman, a sophomore business major, also posted a strong weekend for the Bengals compiling 95 assists, four kills, and 11 digs. His 55 assists against St. John Fisher on Friday set the program-record for most assists in a five-set match while also having just one set error. Bowman leads the AMCC with 256 assists on the season, averaging 7.53 per set.

The men's volleyball team is back in action tonight as they will travel to Houghton for an AMCC matchup at 7:00 pm.
