Lucas Signoretti (Ottawa, ON/Sudbury Cubs) of the Buffalo State men's hockey team have been named Bengal Athletes of the Week, presented by UBMD Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
DeJesus, a sophomore biology major, had a stellar week as the Bengals went 2-1 on the week including a weekend sweep of Plattsburgh and Potsdam. In Tuesday's effort against Morrisville, DeJesus set a career-high with 25 points while adding four rebounds, four assists, two steals, and was 4-7 (57%) from three-point range. In Friday's win over the Cardinals, DeJesus added another 10 points with four rebounds and eight assists before adding a double-double performance against Potsdam with 17 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
The men's basketball team returns to action Friday with a road battle at Canton.
Signoretti, a freshman business major, dominated in Buffalo State's 6-2 victory over the Potsdam Bears on Saturday scoring four goals and picking up an assist. Signoretti netted his first hat trick as a Bengal which featured the game-winning goal, and two power play goals. On the year, Signoretti sits in the top five in the SUNYAC in goals and points. He was also named the SUNYAC Men's Hockey Rookie of the Week.
The men's hockey team is back in action on Friday with a SUNYAC road contest at #1 Hobart.
