BUFFALO, NY – Mariah Allen (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) of the Buffalo State acrobatics & tumbling team have been named the NCATA Freshman of the Week for her respective performance over the weekend.
Allen, a base/tumbler, was a key piece for Buffalo State in their win over Calvin on Saturday. She competed in ten heats and the team event for the Bengals as they eclipsed the 200-point barrier for the first time in program history. She was part of the compulsory pyramid that scored a 9.05 and the open pyramid that scored a 9.00. Allen is also the first in program history to earn the honor.
The acrobatics & tumbling team returns to action on March 20 as they will host Canisius and #8 Mary Hardin-Baylor to close out the regular season.
