BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's acrobatics & tumbling team picked up their first win of the season with a program-record score of 206.765 over Calvin this afternoon at the Sports Arena. This is also the first time in program history the Bengals have broken the 200-point barrier.
THE BENGAL BREAKDOWN
- Buffalo State opened the scoring with a 26.70 in the compulsory event. The Bengals followed their strong start with a 23.55 score in the acro event.
- To close out the first half, the Bengals posted a 25.55 in the pyramid event to take a 75.80-53.55 lead into halftime.
- Coming out of the break, Buffalo State added an additional 24.70 points in the toss event.
- In the tumbling event, the Bengals swept five of the six heats with their best showing in the open pass with Adrienne Gardner (Fairfield, CA/St. Patrick-St. Vincent) scoring 7.875. Gardner teamed up with Lucy Ingro (Newfane, NY/Newfane) in the duo pass to score a 7.150.
- The Bengals closed out the meet with a 68.040 in the team event.
- Following the team event, the Bengals honored their seniors with the trio of Ingro, Jackie Heyden (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island), and Julia Purpura (Cheektowaga, NY/Cleveland Hill).
