Acrobatics & Tumbling Comes Up Short Against East Texas Baptist

MARSHALL, TX – The Buffalo State acrobatics & tumbling team continued competition this evening at the NCATA Division III Tournament host-East Texas Baptist. The Bengals late surge came up short at Ornelas Gym with a final score of 209.305-207.610.

THE BENGAL BREAKDOWN
  • The Bengals opened the evening with 26.70 points in the compulsory event. Buffalo State won the acro heat with a score of 6.60.
  • Buffalo State then added 19.83 points in the acro event, including a heat win in the seven-element with a score of 7.90.
  • Closing out the first half, the Bengals netted 26.40 points in the pyramid event. East Texas Baptist carried a slight lead into halftime with the overall score standing at 75.80-72.93.
  • Coming out of the break, Buffalo State swept all three heats of the toss event and finished with an event total score of 24.45.
  • After winning the duo pass heat in the tumbling event, the Bengals entered the team event with one final push. Despite scoring 71.61 points in the team event, East Texas Baptist was able to hold on for the win.

The Bengals will finish their season tomorrow as they will compete in event finals.
