BUFFALO, NY – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its annual outdoor track & field major awards today with Buffalo State's
Nyla Wilson-Epps (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry) being named the SUNYAC Track & Field Female Rookie of the Year. Wilson-Epps earns her first career conference major award.
Wilson-Epps had a stellar outdoor campaign for the Bengals as she was the SUNYAC Champion in the discus throw with a school record mark of 42.50 meters. She also finished fifth in both the shot put and hammer throw, was named the SUNYAC Female Rookie of the Championship Meet and set the school record in the shot put (12.49 meters) and the hammer throw (50.34 meters). Additionally, Wilson-Epps earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in all three throwing events.
