Women’s Soccer Works Overtime to Edge New Paltz

BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (4-5/1-2) concluded regulation play knotted in a scoreless draw for the second-straight day, but this time came away with a 1-0 overtime victory over visiting New Paltz (4-5/1-2) on an own goal today in a SUNYAC game at Coyer Field.

The teams traded nine shots apiece through the first 90 minutes, before an own goal ended the game just 2:51 into overtime. Barb Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) sent a long through ball into the box that a New Paltz defender inadvertently redirected past her goalkeeper who was breaking the opposite direction.

Meghan Jarrell (Hamburg/Hamburg) had four saves in goal for Buffalo State to record her third shutout of the season.

The Bengals will next play at Morrisville on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
