LAST TIME OUT…

Last time out, the Bengals hosted the SUNY Delhi Broncos for Senior Day, drawing 1-1 to close out their SUNYAC regular season.
Emily Bombard (Chaumont, NY/Immaculate Heart) scored the lone goal for the Bengals, with Olivia Kilmer (Hammondsport, NY/Avoca) and Kaylee Lockwood (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) picking up the assists.
Senior goalkeepers Addy Williams (Grapevine, TX/Grapevine) and Liz Flores (Hurst, TX/Colleyville Heritage) each played one half, with Williams making the lone save.

Closing out their 2026 regular season at home, the Bengals looked to pick up one more win in SUNYAC play as they hosted the Broncos for Senior Day.
The Bengals controlled possession throughout the early portion of the first half, attacking the Broncos' defense and creating quality chances on net. However, Delhi held its shape and kept the Bengals off the scoreboard. The Broncos broke through in the 36th minute, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime as the Bengals looked for an answer.

Coming out of the halftime break, the Bengals continued their attack on the Broncos' defense, searching for the equalizer. Their breakthrough came in the 69th minute, as the Bengals found the back of the net to even the score. As time ticked away, both sides looked for the game-winning goal to close out the regular season, but chances became scarce, and the two teams finished the Bengals' Senior Day with a draw.

THE MATCHUP/HOW WE GOT HERE…

After an up-and-down season, the Buffalo State Bengals women's soccer team locked in during the conference portion of its schedule, clinching the sixth seed in the SUNYAC Championships with a 5-9-3 (3-2-3 SUNYAC) record. This marks the Bengals' third-consecutive year in the SUNYAC Championships, keeping them on pace to match the program's record of five-straight appearances from 2012-2016.

This also marks the Bengals' second-consecutive season hosting a playoff matchup at home after last year's dominant 3-1 victory over the New Paltz Hawks, a former conference member.

This season, the Bengals will host the newest SUNYAC member, the Alfred State Pioneers, who clinched the seventh seed. The winner of this first-round matchup will travel to Fredonia to take on the Blue Devils on Saturday, October 31, at 2:00 PM.

LAST TIME WE MET…

The Bengals defeated the Pioneers on the road earlier this season, earning a 3-1 victory. Riley Stevenson (Albany, NY/Guilderland) recorded her first hat trick as a Bengal, along with her second multi-goal effort of the season, while Olivia Kilmer (Hammondsport, NY/Avoca), Lilly Jaroszewski (El Paso, TX/Coronado), and Kaylee Lockwood (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) each earned an assist.

Addy Williams (Grapevine, TX/Grapevine) and Gabriela Aichinger (Elma, NY/Iroquois) combined for two saves to help secure the victory.

Alfred State got the scoring started with an early goal. Buffalo State responded shortly after, as Stevenson tied the game at 1-1.
Stevenson scored again later in the half to give the Bengals their first lead of the evening. Shortly before the end of the first half, Stevenson secured the hat trick with a loose ball right in front of the net, extending Buffalo State's lead to 3-1. The Bengals kept the Pioneers off the scoreboard throughout the second half to secure the 3-1 victory and their second straight conference win.

FOR THE RECORD BOOKS…

Two mainstays of the women's soccer program climbed their way into the program's record books this season, highlighting their contributions to the Bengals.

Junior forward Olivia Kilmer officially made her mark in the Bengals' record books, entering the top 10 on the career scoring list with 57 points. Her 15 points this season (six goals and three assists) pushed her past Amy Drozen (2000-03), placing her eighth on the program's all-time scoring list.

Another mainstay for the Bengals has been senior goalkeeper Addy Williams, who has racked up 252 saves throughout her four years as a Bengal. Those saves helped her pass Laura Williams (1998-2000) and Bella Vene (2021-22), securing the fifth spot on the Bengals' all-time career saves list.

A LOOK AT ALFRED STATE…

The Pioneers enter the SUNYAC Championship First Round as the seventh seed with a 7-6-2 (3-4-1 SUNYAC) record.

Isabella Hoffmann leads the Pioneers with 31 points, tallying 13 goals and five assists. In net, Madeline Cox leads Alfred State with a 1.84 goals-against average and a .755 save percentage across 14 starts this season.
