POTSDAM, NY—
Brandon Loncar (Kenmore/Kenmore East) scored three times and Buffalo State (6-8-1/2-4-1) overcame an early deficit with four-straight goals to blast Potsdam (3-11-1/1-7), 4-1, today in a road SUNYAC contest. The win kept the Bengals alive in the hunt for a SUNYAC playoff berth.
Potsdam netted the game's first goal in the seventh minute, but the Bengals quickly countered and took a 2-1 lead by the half.
Marikos Habtemichael (Rochester/Wilson Magnet) extended the lead to 3-1 in the 72nd minute, and Loncar completed the hat trick in the closing minutes to seal the victory.
Tony Schiappa (Amherst/Williamsville East),
Tom Winski (Toronto, ON/Dante Alighieri) and
Andrew Donner (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) all had assists.
Buffalo State outshot the Bears, 15-13.
Brian Dudek (Niskayuna/Cheshire Academy) allowed one goal and had five saves.
Buffalo State will return to action next Friday at Geneseo.
