BUFFALO, NY— Leighana Krzyzanowski (Ontario/Wayne Central) had a goal and an assist as Buffalo State (6-3-5/4-2-1) clinched a SUNYAC playoff berth with a 2-0 victory over visiting Potsdam (6-8-1/0-8-1) today at Coyer Field.

Mindy Wendt (Sanborn/Starpoint) opened the scoring in the 16th minute tapping a feed from Krzyzanowski into an open goal. The Bengals completed the scoring in the 33rd minute on a long shot by Krzyzanowski after taking a feed from Melissa Mahoney (Poughkeepsie/Ketcham).

The Bengals dominated play, outshooting the Bears, 35-4. Meghan Jarrell (Hamburg/Hamburg) and Virginia Porten (Auburn/Auburn) combined for the shutout, each playing a half. Porten made the only save necessary for Buffalo State.

Buffalo State will host Geneseo in another SUNYAC contest next Friday at 3 p.m.
