BUFFALO, NY—Geneseo (10-4-1/4-3-1) netted the game-winner with just 1:45 remaining to defeat host Buffalo State (6-4-5/4-3-1), 2-1, in a SUNYAC contest today at Coyer Field.

Eileen Coyle slipped the ball inside the left post after taking a nice feed from Stephanie Bergin in the closing minutes to regain the lead for the Knights. Geneseo had taken the lead in the first half on a goal by Jane Matejcik, but Buffalo State netted the equalizer on a 46-yard free kick by Kristina Boberskyj (Rochester/Greece-Odyssey) in the 85th minute.

Buffalo State held a 17-15 edge in shots. Virginia Porten (Auburn/Auburn) had four saves for the Bengals, and Katie Clerkin had five stops for Geneseo.

Buffalo State will host Brockport in the SUNYAC regular season finale tomorrow at 3 p.m.
