BUFFALO, NY—Cortland (19-3/12-1) played tough defense, holding Buffalo State (5-17/4-9) to a season-low 25 points in a 53-25 victory in a SUNYAC game this evening at the Sports Arena.

Jessica Laing (Bloomville/S. Kortright) led the Red Dragons with 13 points and nine rebounds. Jennifer Polan (Westhampton Beach/Westhampton Beach) added nine points.

Shareese Hamer (Erie, PA/Strong Vincent) paced Buffalo State with eight points and 11 rebounds.

Cortland jumped out to a 33-13 lead at the intermission and coasted to the victory. The two teams combined to commit 52 turnovers (28 by Buffalo State). Cortland shot just 32-percent from the field, and held the Bengals to 24-percent shooting.

Buffalo State will host New Paltz tomorrow at 2 p.m.
