PLATTSBURGH, NY—Buffalo State (8-4-2/4-1-1) saw its school record unbeaten streak end at nine games today in a tale of two halves with a 2-1 loss at Plattsburgh (10-2-1/5-1-1).

Buffalo State outshot Plattsburgh 14-1 in the first half, but the Cardinals struck first in the 13th minute with a controversial goal that the official deemed fully crossed the goal line. The Bengals responded quickly, however, when Melissa Mahoney (Poughkeepsie/Ketcham) buried her fifth of the season off a feed from Barbara Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) less than five minutes later. Plattsburgh flipped the field in the second half, outshooting the Bengals 13-1, and netted the only goal in the 60th minute and held on for the victory. Virginia Porten (Auburn/Auburn) made five saves for Buffalo State.

Buffalo State will look to get back on track at Potsdam tomorrow at 1 p.m.
