BUFFALO, NY—Melissa Mahoney (Poughkeepsie/Ketcham) netted her fourth goal of the season as Buffalo State (6-3-2) extended its unbeaten streak to seven games a 1-0 victory over visiting St. John Fisher (2-8-1) in a non-conference game today in the rain at Coyer Field.

Buffalo State controlled the bulk of play in the first half, but the game remained scoreless at the intermission. Mahoney finally broke the shutout in the 59th minute when she capitalized on a corner kick that pin-balled in the box before she was able to deposit it inside the left post.

The Bengal outshot the Cardinals, 16-6 for the game. Goalkeeper Virginia Porten (Auburn/Auburn) need to make just one save for her third shutout of the season.

Buffalo State will return to SUNYAC play on Friday with a home contest against Oswego at 4 p.m.
