BUFFALO, NY—Shaunta Pyles (Hilton/Hilton) scored the game winner off an assist from Melissa Mahoney (Poughkeepsie/Ketcham) in the 88th minute to complete the comeback for Buffalo State (7-3-2/3-0-1), as the Bengals defeated Oswego (5-6/0-4), 4-3, in a SUNYAC game today at Coyer Field.

The Lakers took a commanding 3-0 lead into halftime, on a hat trick performance by freshman Nikki Liadka, before Buffalo State rallied, scoring four unanswered in the second half. Jordan Dudish (Grand Island/Grand Island) got things started, scoring off a direct kick in the 55th minute. Amanda Sauer (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) converted a penalty kick just under eight minutes later and Jenna Ferrando (LeRoy/LeRoy) tied the game at 3-3 when she headed in an Amanda Smyth (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) corner kick.

Pyles' late goal extended the Bengals undefeated streak to eight games, just one shy of the record set in 2006. Buffalo State outshot Oswego, 26-16. Virginia Porten (Auburn/Auburn) made five saves to pick up her fifth win of the season, while Christina Fregosi had 15 stops in the loss for the Lakers.

Buffalo State hosts Cortland for Senior Day tomorrow at 1 p.m.
