BUFFALO, NY—Four Bengals netted their first career goals as Buffalo State (5-3-1/2-0) trounced visiting New Paltz (1-6-1/0-2), 5-1, in a SUNYAC contest this afternoon at Coyer Field. Buffalo State pushed it unbeaten streak to five games.
Jessica Andres (Honeoye/Honeoye),
Amanda Smyth (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda),
Jen Seguin (Hamilton, ON/St. Jean de Brebeuf) and
Katie Hennes (E. Northport/Northport) all scored their first collegiate goals to lead the Bengals' attack.
Barbara Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) also scored, and
Melissa Mahoney (Poughkeepsie/Ketcham) had a pair of assists.
Buffalo State opened the scoring with three first-half goals, before extending the lead to 5-0 in the second frame. The Hawks broke the shutout with a late tally. The Bengals held a 13-8 advantage in shots. Freshman
Linda Banfield (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) made two saves for the win.
Buffalo State will host Oneonta tomorrow for another conference game at 3:30 p.m.
