PLATTSBURGH, NY—Sophomore Staci McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) scored a career-high 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lift visiting Buffalo State (8-6/3-5) to a 73-62 victory over Plattsburgh (6-8/3-5) in a SUNYAC game today at Memorial Hall.

Barb Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) added 14 points and five steals. Kristin Ritch (Dobbs Ferry/Dobbs Ferry) also scored 14 points, and Dee Layne (Brooklyn/E. NY Family) grabbed 12 rebounds.

Buffalo State trailed 34-28 at halftime, but outscored the Cardinals 45-28 over the final 20 minutes. The Bengals owned the battle of the boards, outrebounding Plattsburgh, 50-36, and held a 22-11 advantage in second-chance points. Buffalo State also held a 15-6 scoring edge from 3-point range.

Buffalo State will host Brockport on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
