FREDONIA, NY—Buffalo State (10-14) picked up two wins today at the Fredonia Invitational, defeating Mt. Aloysius in four sets, before winning a five-setter against Pitt-Greensburg.

The Bengals topped Mt. Aloysius, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19 and 25-9 in the morning match.  Sam Parente (E. Patchogue/Bellport) had 13 kills and seven blocks to lead Buffalo State.  Alexandra Opera (Lancaster/Lancaster) had a team-high 15 assists and had 12 digs, while Chelsea Moore (Kenmore/Kenmore West) added in 27 digs.

The Bengals held off Pitt-Greensburg in the late match, 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 20-25 and 15-7.  Parente and Ray-Ray Algbedo (Yonkers/Yonkers) each had 10 kills to lead the way.  Kelsey Bashore (Antwerp, OH/Antwerp) had 35 assists and 17 digs, and Sherrell McLean (Buffalo/City Honors) had nine kills.  

Bashore was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Buffalo State will host Rochester and Medaille for a tri-match next Saturday.
