DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.—Buffalo State (8-1) played stifling defense to drop Drew University (4-5), 54-42, in a non-conference game this evening in the Daytona Beach Shootout at the Ocean Center Arena.

Barb Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) scored a game-high 15 points and added four steals to lead the Bengals.  Staci McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) had 13 points and eight rebounds, and Bianca Smiley (Amherst/Sweet Home) posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.

The Bengals limited Drew to just 35-percent shooting from the field and forced 25 turnovers in the game.  Buffalo State used a 14-0 run in the first half to pull away and led 34-24 at the intermission, and Drew never threatened the rest of the way.

Buffalo State will play at the Ocean Center again tomorrow against Bates at 6 p.m.
