Women's Basketball Rips Plattsburgh, 64-49

BUFFALO, NY—Barb Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) led Buffalo State (14-9/9-8) with 19 points, seven rebounds and six steals as the Bengals picked up their 14th win of the season, defeating visiting Plattsburgh (7-16/4-13), 64-49, in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Sports Arena.

Staci McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) added 15 points and three steals for the Bengals, and Sarah Thompson (Delmar/Bethlehem) had six points and seven boards. Kala Crawford (Middle Falls/Saratoga Springs) chipped in eight points off the bench.

Buffalo State never trailed and built a 34-19 lead through the opening 20 minutes. Plattsburgh never cut the deficit to fewer than 14, and the Bengals cruised to the victory.

Buffalo State wore pink uniforms as part WBCA “Pink Zone” celebration. The game featured a fundraiser to raise money and awareness for the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund®. The WBCA Pink Zone initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.

Buffalo State will conclude the regular season tomorrow at home against Potsdam at 2 p.m.
