TROY, NY—Buffalo State (2-2) scored first, but Union (3-0) netted the final three goals of the game to claim a 3-1 victory today in the opening round of the RPI Classic.

Tina Boberskyj (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) scored with an assist from Jordan Dudish (Grand Island/Grand Island) just 6:55 into the game, but the Bengals could not make the lead stand. Union evened the score in the 18th minute and then got an own goal in the 24th minute to take its first lead. The Dutchwomen added an insurance marker in the 81st minute to complete the scoring.

Union held a narrow 18-13 edge in shots. Linda Banfield (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) made five stops for the Bengals.

The Bengals will remain in Troy, N.Y. to take on host RPI tomorrow at 3 p.m.
