BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (4-3) held No. 2 William Smith (5-0-1) scoreless through 54 minutes of play, before the Herons offense kicked in to give the visitors a 2-0 win in a non-conference game today at Coyer Field.

The Bengals forced the William Smith goalkeeper to make three early saves, but were shut down the rest of the game. Buffalo State was outshot 14-3.

Tina Boberskyj (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) had seven saves in the loss. Boberskyj entered the game in relief of Virginia Porten (Auburn/Auburn) who was forced from the contest just eight minutes in as a result of an injury.

Buffalo State continues its homestand when it hosts Brockport in the conference opener Friday at 4 p.m.
