Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Shannon Yokopovich (Webster/Webster Thomas) netted both Buffalo State (5-6-5/3-1-4) goals as the Bengals rallied to defeat visiting New Paltz (11-4-1/4-3-1) in a SUNYAC game this afternoon.

With the win, Buffalo State secured a berth in the SUNYAC playoffs, with seeding and first-round opponent yet to be determined.

New Paltz opened the scoring in the 8th minute and held the lead until Yokopovich found the back of the net off a Kristin Seiferth (Brightwaters/Bay Shore) corner at 34:20.  The game appeared to be headed for overtime until Yokopovich scored the game winner late in the second half, when she connected with Seiferth off another set corner play.  Meghan Allen (Big Flats/Corning East) was also credited with an assist.

Buffalo State outshot New Paltz, 13-7, and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Linda Banfield (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) had to make just one save to pick up the win.

Buffalo State will host Oneonta tomorrow in the conference regular season finale at 1 p.m.
