Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Shannon Yokopovich (Webster/Webster Thomas) scored a pair of goals to lead Buffalo State (2-6-3) to a 2-1 win over visiting Houghton (6-6) in a non-league game at Coyer Field this afternoon.

Yokopovich scored on the Bengals' first shot, just 47 seconds in to the game, when she lofted a ball from 35 yards out that dropped in behind the Houghton goalkeeper.  The Highlanders netted the equalizer in the 55th minute, but Yokopovich recorded the game-winner with just over six minutes remaining when she headed in a Shaunta Pyles (Rochester/Hilton) corner kick.  Taylor Volkman (Wilton/S. Glens Falls) assisted on the Bengals' first goal.

Buffalo State outshot Houghton, 16-4, including a 9-0 advantage in the first half.  Linda Banfield (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) had two saves in the win.

Buffalo State will return to conference play when it hosts Cortland on Friday at 4 p.m.
