Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Kayla Brantmeyer scored twice for Oneonta (11-5-1/7-2) to propel the Red Dragons to a 3-1 win over Buffalo State (5-7-5/3-2-4) in cold and wet conditions at Coyer Field this afternoon.
Brantmeyer recorded her first of the game in the 39th minute with a shot to the far post.
Shannon Yokopovich (Webster/Webster Thomas) netted the equalizer just over four minutes later when she converted on a direct kick from 30 yards out. The Red Dragons would regain the lead before the intermission, scoring with 13 seconds left in the first half. Brantmeyer tacked on the insurance marker midway through the second half to close out all scoring.
Oneonta held a 14-7 advantage in shots and
Linda Banfield (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) finished with three saves for the Bengals.
Buffalo State will enter the SUNYAC playoffs as the No. 5 seed and will play at fourth-seeded Cortland on Oct. 27 at a time yet to be determined.
The Bengals close out their regular season when they host St. John Fisher on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
