BUFFALO, NY—Plattsburgh State's Shannon Stewart recorded a goal and two assists to lead the No. 1-ranked Cardinals (8-0-1/4-0) to a 5-0 win over Buffalo State (3-5/2-3) in an ECAC West game this afternoon at the Ice Arena.

The Bengals held Plattsburgh scoreless in the first period, despite being outshot 15-2, but the Cardinals took control of the scoreboard in the second stanza, netting four goals in a 10-minute span. 

The Cardinals peppered the Buffalo State net with 40 shots, compared to the Bengals' 11, and was 1 for 1 on the power play, while the Bengals finished 0 for 3.  Jordan Lee (Colorado Springs, CO/Widefield) had 28 saves through two periods of play and Sarah Quigley (Canton, MA/National Sports Academy) stopped seven shots.

Buffalo State and Plattsburgh State will face-off again tomorrow at 2 p.m.
