Box Score BRADFORD, Pa.—Freshman Taylor Volkman (Wilton/South Glens Falls) recorded her first collegiate goal and helped propel Buffalo State (1-5) to a 2-0 win over host Pitt-Bradford (4-3) in a non-conference game this afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, Volkman broke through for the Bengals, finding the back of the net after her shot deflected off the hands of the Pitt-Bradford goalkeeper.  Melissa Mahoney (Poughkeepsie/Roy C. Ketcham) added an insurance marker in the 78th minute to close out all scoring.  Meghan Allen (Big Flats/Corning East) and Liz Malinowski (Williamsville/Williamsville East) each finished with an assist.

Buffalo State held a slim 15-14 advantage in shots and corner kicks were even at four.  Linda Banfield (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) made eight saves en route to her second career shutout.

Buffalo State will open up its conference portion of the schedule on Friday at Brockport at 4 p.m.
