Box Score BROCKPORT, NY—Buffalo State (1-6/0-1) struck first, but host Brockport (6-0-1/1-0) responded with three unanswered goals to claim a 3-1 victory in the SUNYAC season opener for both teams this afternoon.

Paula Jones (Buffalo/Amherst) gave the Bengals an early lead in the 11th minute with an assist from Liz Malinowski (Williamsville/Williamsville South).  Brockport evened the score just over seven minutes later and then took the lead later in the opening half.  The Golden Eagles added an insurance marker in the 83rd minute to put the game out of reach. 

Brockport outshot Buffalo State 15-5 for the game, including 7-1 in the first half.  Linda Banfield (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) made three saves between the pipes for the Bengals.

Buffalo State will visit Geneseo for another conference game tomorrow at 1 p.m.
