Box Score OSWEGO, NY—Freshman Katie Shaw (Burt/Newfane) tallied her first collegiate goal less than five minutes into overtime to propel visiting Buffalo State (7-4-1/3-1) to a 1-0 victory over Oswego (7-5/2-3) today in a SUNYAC contest.

Linda Banfield (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) made eight saves in regulation to hold the Lakers scoreless and force the extra period. Shaw netted the game-winner with a header off a well-served ball from corner kick by Jordan Dudish (Grand Island/Grand Island) which was the only shot for either team in the extra period.

The shutout was Banfield's sixth of the season. Oswego finished with a 12-7 advantage in shots, while Buffalo State had a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.

Buffalo State will visit Cortland tomorrow for another league game at 1 p.m.
