FARMINGDALE, NY—Senior Paula Jones (Buffalo/Amherst) provided all the offense necessary as Buffalo State (1-0-1) slipped past Emmanuel (0-2) by a 1-0 count on the final day of the Farmingdale State Tournament.

Jones' tally came in just the 16th minute when she cashed in on a deflection off of a corner kick. The two teams engaged in a defensive battle for the rest of the way, keeping scoring chances to a minimum at both ends of the field.

Linda Banfield (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) only needed to make three saves for her sixth career shutout, as Buffalo State held a 10-5 advantage in shots.

Buffalo State will head downstate again next weekend to participate in the Manhattanville Valiant Classic. The Bengals will open with the host school on Friday at 5:45 p.m.
