FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Buffalo State men's swimming and diving team earned its first dual victory of the season, getting past rival Fredonia as the teams earned a split Saturday afternoon.

WOMEN'S NOTABLES
- Hannah Heil (Medina, N.Y./Medina) breezed to a victory in the 50-yard freestyle for the fourth time this season, winning in a time of 25.60. She also picked up a victory in the 100-yard freestyle, breaking the one-minute mark with a time of 57.06.
- Maggie Parobek (Amherst, NY/Amherst) also won a pair of events, touching first in the 200-yard IM (2:23.52) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:43.00).
- Lindsay DeBoth (Amherst, N.Y./Amherst) picked up a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke, winning in 1:20.67.
MEN'S NOTABLES
- The men's 200-yard medley relay team of Zach Nau (Spencerport/Spencerport), Colby Riexinger (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport), Matt Banks (Lancaster, N.Y./St. Joe's), and Wesley Van (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) started the meet with a victory, in a time of 1:45.59.
- Nau picked up a trio of individual wins, dominating the 100- (57.15) and 200- (2:11.67) backstroke, as well as the 200-yard IM (2:14.57).
- Banks also touched first in the 100- (57.79) and 200- (2:14.15) butterfly.
- The 200-yard freestyle relay team of James Purpura (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cleveland Hill), Brandon Garcia (Buffalo, N.Y./Kenmore West), Ryan Duell (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport), and Branden Rivers (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) closed out the meet with a victory, in a time of 1:47.96.
