BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's and women's swimming and diving teams are ready for SUNYAC Championships this week as they travel to downtown Buffalo to the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center. Wednesday will only feature a night session beginning at 6:00 pm. The prelim sessions on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will begin at 10:00 am with finals on Thursday and Friday beginning at 5:30 pm and finals on Saturday beginning at 6:00 pm.
To compete at finals, swimmers must finish top-16 in their respective events in prelims. Places 9-16 will swim in a consolation final while places 1-8 will swim in a championship final. For relays, each school will have one relay in each relay swim at finals.

For The Bengal Men
- Matt Banks (Lancaster, NY/St. Joe's) leads the men's side seeded 15th in the 200 IM, 10th in the 100 fly, and 8th in the 200 fly.
- Chris Signore (Buffalo, NY/Canisius) will be seeded 17th in the 400 IM and 12th in the 1,650 free.
- Colby Riexinger (Brockport, NY/Brockport) will be seeded 18th in the 100 back and 19th in the 200 back.
For The Bengal Women
- Hannah Heil (Medina, NY/Medina) and Maggie Bilquin (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) will look to lead the women's side.
- Heil currently sits seeded 5th in the 50 free, 15th in the 200 free, and 7th in the 100 free.
- Bilquin will be seeded 6th in the 100 breast and 5th in the 200 breast.
- Joining Bilquin in the 100 breaststroke will be Maggie Parobek (Amherst, NY/Amherst) and Lindsay DeBoth (Amherst, NY/Amherst) who are seeded 11th and 23rd, respectively.
- Parobek will also be seen swimming the 100 fly (14th) and the 200 fly (13th).
- Also looking to make a statement will be freshman Claire Kasinski (Lancaster, NY/St. Mary's) and Clare Hassett (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area).
- Kasinski is seeded 16th in the 100 back and 15th in the 200 back while Hassett is seeded 15th in the 1,650 free.
Assessing The Competition
- Buffalo State will see the likes of Geneseo, Cortland, Oswego, New Paltz, Oneonta, Brockport, Potsdam, and Fredonia.
- Geneseo is the reigning champs on both the men's and women's side.
- Both the Bengal men and women finished eighth at last year's championships.
