Swimming and Diving Set for Geneseo Invite Today

Meet begins at 2:30 p.m.

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State swimming and diving teams get set to wrap up the regular season today, competing in the Geneseo Invite at the Erie Community College Flickinger Center this afternoon.

The Bengals are returning to action following a pair of defeats in a dual meet against Oswego on Wednesday evening. For the women, Hannah Heil (Medina, NY/Medina) won the 50-yard freestyle, something that we've seen with regularity this season. Maggie Parobek (Amherst, NY/Amherst) took second in a pair of events, the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard breaststroke. Brianna Garcia (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) picked up a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle. On the men's side, Branden Rivers (Lockport, NY/Lockport) swept the diving events at one-meter and three-meters. Wesley Van (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca), Sean Mahaney (Alden, NY/Alden), Zach Nau (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) each finished second to score points for Buffalo State.

After today, the top Bengal swimmers and divers will prepare for SUNYAC Championships, which take place at ECC Flickinger Center from Feb. 16-19.
