Swimming And Diving Set To Travel To Rochester

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo state men's and women's swimming and diving teams will travel to Rochester tonight for a tri-meet matchup with the University of Rochester Yellowjackets and the MCC Tribunes.
 
Breaking Down The Bengals:
  • Both sides enter today's contest with a 1-3 start to the season.
  • The men earned their first victory of the year last weekend against Hobart and William Smith College, while they women notched their win against Fredonia.
  • Hannah Heil (Medina, NY/Medina), the reigning Bengal Athlete of the Week, won the 100 free last weekend in a time of 56.75.
  • Sadie Pratt-Filker (New York, NY/King Edward VI) and Maggie Bilquin (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) went 2-3 in the 50 and 100 breast at the Ithaca Invite.
  • Heil currently has the fastest time in the conference in the event (55.96), and the third-fastest in the 50 free (25.55).
  • Matt Banks (Lancaster, NY/St. Joe's) paces the men's side as he also ranks in the top-5 in the conference in the 100 free (51.84) and 100 fly (56.21).
 
Assessing The Competition:
  • Tonight will mark the beginning of the season for both the University of Rochester and MCC.
  • Rochester holds a 4-0 mark against both the Bengal men and women.
  • MCC will be exhibition scoring.
