CORTLAND, NY – The Buffalo State swimming and diving teams finished off their mid-season meet hosted by SUNY Cortland. The men finished fifth in the seven team field while the women had an impressive third place showing.

FOR THE BENGAL MEN

• The 200 free relay of Matt Banks (Lancaster, NY/St. Joe's), Colby Riexinger (Brockport, NY/Brockport), Ben Clarner (Port Crain, NY/Chenango Falls), and Chris Signore (Buffalo, NY/Canisius) opened the second session with a fourth place finish and a time of 1:38.01.
• Banks went on to finish third in the 100 fly with a time of 54.65.
• Banks, Riexinger, and Clarner teamed up with Sean Mahaney (Alden, NY/Alden) to find a fifth place finish in the 400 medley relay.
• Mahaney would also have a fifth place showing in the 1,650 free.

FOR THE BENGAL WOMEN

• The 200 free relay of BB Garcia (Buffalo, NY/Canisius College), Maggie Parobek (Amherst, NY/Amherst), Julia Purpura (Buffalo, NY/Cleveland Hill), and Sadie Pratt-Filker (New York, NY/King Edward VI) raced to a third place finish with a time of 1:48.39.
• Pratt-Filker would take the win in the 100 breast with a time of 1:09.06 while Maggie Bilquin (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) took second, Parobek took fourth, and Lindsay DeBoth (Amherst, NY/Amherst) finished 13^th; all of which scored points for the Bengals.
• Bilquin would go on to win the 200 breast in 2:34.64.
• Parobek, Garcia, Bilquin, and Purpura would team up to close out the meet with a third place finish in the 400 free relay.

The Bengals will return to action in 2023 when the travel to Brockport on January 13^th. Meet time is expected for 4:00 pm.
