BUFFALO, N.Y. – Hannah Heil (Medina, NY/Medina) and Zach Nau (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) returned to the podium Saturday, leading the way for the Buffalo State swimming and diving teams as the teams wrapped up action at the SUNYAC Championships Saturday evening.

WOMEN'S NOTABLES
- Heil finished her first championship meet with a solid performance in her signature event, the 100-yard freestyle. After earning a trip to the finals, Heil finished just under a second off a Buffalo State program record with a time of 53.74, good for fourth place.
- In the same event, Brianna Garcia (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) earned a spot in the consolation final, finishing in 12th place overall with a time of 56.93.
- Maggie Parobek (Amherst, NY/Amherst) took top honors in dominant fashion in the consolation final of the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in a time of 2:33.66.
- The 400-yard freestyle relay quartet of Garcia, Parobek, Heil, and senior Marita Miller (Freeville, NY/Dryden) earned an eighth place finish, in 3:47.54.
MEN'S NOTABLES
- Nau earned his second podium honor in as many days, finishing his final championship meet with a time of 2:05.28 in the 200-yard backstroke.
- Also making his last final was James Purpura (Cheektowaga, NY/Cleveland Hill), who earned a spot into the consolation final of the 200-yard backstroke, finishing 12th overall in 2:05.79.
- Fellow senior Wesley Van (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) was solid in his final individual event as a Bengal, the 100-yard freestyle. Earning a trip to the consolation final, Van finished the event in 49.76.
- Matt Banks (Lancaster, NY/St. Joseph's) was the fourth male to earn a consolation spot in the evening, earning a time of 2:04.51, good for 10th overall.
- Nau, Banks, Van, and senior Sean Mahaney (Alden, NY/Alden) capped a successful weekend with a seventh-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as the quartet finished in 3:18.88.
